RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore
Once you have completed the RYA Day Skipper Theory shorebased course you can then advance to the RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course, this builds on the knowledge already acquired in the RYA Day Skipper Sailing Theory shorebased course.
The Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course is targeted towards sailors and motor boaters who are interested in the more advanced passages, i.e offshore or night-time.
This course is a must for those looking to work towards taking the RYA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore practical exams.
Course Overview
This intensive course covers the subjects below: There is a small amount of time factored into the course for revision of subjects covered in the RYA Day Skipper Theory course but we recommend that you have revisited and thoroughly understood the knowledge you acquired at Day Skipper level and that you have thoroughly learnt the Collision Regulations prior to attending.
During the course you will sit three exams: one on navigation, one on passage making and one on the Collision Regulations, upon successfully completing these examinations and will be awarded the RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory Certificate.
