Endeavour Sailing Team
All our skippers are RYA qualified instructors. We feel that great instructors make a big difference in learning, retention and fun.
Our instructors have been sailing for years in many locations, waters and environments. This experience provides a wealth of knowledge far beyond the average instructor. More importantly our instructors love sailing and love sharing their passion with you.
We have very high standards for our instructors and only continue working with the best, and our instructors participate in regular, structured staff training to ensure they are up to date with changes and continue to work to a high standard.
Stephanie also left the corporate life behind. As a Regional Business Manager in the Pharmaceutical Industry and previous to that a Trainer, she has a wealth of knowledge on organising, people management and development, which she brings to her current role as School Principal. Along with Keith, Stephanie is driven in turning their dream into a success.
Stephanie is the school principal, and has set standards for staff training, cleanliness and comfort far above those of many other sailing schools, to ensure excellent instruction and a comfortable stay with us.
As a RYA Cruising Instructor, RYA Yachtmaster Theory Instructor, RYA First Aid and RYA VHF Instructor, Stephanie plays an active role in the instruction as well as running the school.
After leaving corporate life back in the UK, where he had a hectic work schedule within the oil business, Keith turned his passion for sailing into his life.
Keith is one of the founding members of Endeavour Sailing and our Chief Instructor. He is also a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and Cruising Instructor Trainer, and has been instructing for many years. He has been sailing for over 40 years (although he will not admit it) with a vast amount of racing and cruising.
Keith sets high standards and thus ensures that the yachtmaster candidates are well prepared for their exams before.
But beware of the Geordie accent!
Emma is a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, and an experienced sailor. Emma worked in design prior to leaving the UK and has a great eye for detail and safety on board.
Emma has quickly become part of the Endeavour Team, and is a real asset to us. Crews love her and respect her knowledge and experience. She is great at creating a team spirit on board and everyone returns on a Friday evening buzzing. All the feedback we have is fantastic and very positive.
Gordon is an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor.
Having previously been in the Army serving in the Gunners, he has an eye for detail. Gordon has a wicked sense of humor, the crew can be heard laughing throughout the course.
Having taught sailing for more than 20 years he has a natural knack of pitching his teaching at the right level.
Keith The Younger, is an RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor.
He has been sailing for about 30 years and has taught both here in Lanzarote and the UK.
After living here for 14 years now, he’s pretty much a fixture on the Island and knows the Canary Islands well.
He loves teaching the new-comers to sailing and also helping more advanced clients expand their skills.
Ex Royal Navy means he has a very experienced background in seamanship and believes in the importance of understanding the basics.
